Over the years, Bowling Green's company numbers have varied and have not necessarily corresponded with their station numbers. Recently, the company numbering has been standardized and the apparatus have received updated graphics.
Company 5 has been either an engine or rescue-pumper. The current station was opened in 1999 with Rescue 2. Today, it is home to Engine 5, as well as Strike Engine 15, which is a fully-equipped apparatus that can be immediately placed on track with call-back personnel in the event of an emergency.
