Truck Co. 5 - Disbanded

Hook & Ladder 5 was organized in 1891 and placed into service at a beautiful new Fire Headquarters building at 619 West Jefferson Street. After relocating, it was reorganized as Quad 5 in 1937. In 1974, a new firehouse was built at 3401 Bohne Avenue for Engine 19 and Truck 5. In 1994, both companies were consolidated as Quint 5 when a single new apparatus was received. In 2002, Engine 19 and Truck 5 were both reactivated. In 2004, they again reverted back to Quint 5. In 2009, Engine 19 was placed back in service as a single company and truck company operations were permanently discontinued as a result of budget cuts and operational changes.
