Engine Co. 21
Engine 21 was organized in 1908 and has served in three different firehouses in the Clifton neighborhood along Frankfort Avenue. In 1992, Engine 21 began operating as Telesqurt 21 after receiving a unique new apparatus designed with a low profile to fit into their old firehouse. In 2010, it relocated to a brand new modern fire station at 300 North Spring Street. In 2012, after Louisville redistributed specialty units, this company became Engine 21, serving as an East End satellite hazmat company, cross-staffing Hazmat 21 as a second piece if needed. Engines 1, 19 and 21 operate identical Seagrave foam-pumpers.
