Engine Co. 19
Engine 19 was established in 1904, replacing Chemical Engine 1. It was replaced by Quad 5 in 1937, but was reactivated in 1974 when a new firehouse was opened at 3401 Bohne Avenue for Engine 19 and Truck 5. In 1994, Quint 5 replaced both companies. In 2002, Quint 5 again split into Engine 19 and Truck 5. From 2004 to 2009, both again consolidated as Quint 5. In 2009, Engine 19 was placed back in service as a single company, with no Truck, serving as a West End satellite hazmat company, cross-staffing Hazmat 19 as a second piece if needed. Engines 1, 19, and 21 operate identical Seagrave foam-pumpers.
