Engine Co. 9
Engine 9 was dedicated in 1872. It is housed at 617 East Breckinridge Street, which was built in 1946. In 1990, it was reorganized as Squrt 9, when it was assigned one of the Squrt apparatus that had become surplus when the two-piece engine companies were discontinued. In 1998, Engine 9 received a new pumper with a 75-foot aerial device and later became known as TeleSqurt 9. In 2021, a new Seagrave with HydroForce articulating boom was placed into service and Louisville discontinued the use of the "Squrt" brand names, instead referring to the 2 remaining pumpers with elevated master streams simply as "engines."
