Engine Co. 16

Engine 16 was established in 1896 at 1509 South 6th Street. It operated as a two-piece engine company from motorization to 1990, first with a wagon and then a Squrt. In 1973, Engine 16 and Truck 3 relocated to a new station built directly across the street at 1500 South 6th Street. Louisville’s Apparatus Repair Facility is also located in the lot behind this firehouse.
