Engine Co. 15

Engine 15 went into service in 1896, at 1328 South Preston Street, where it responds from today. Their building is the oldest active firehouse in Louisville and has also housed Truck 3 during two different periods. In 1979, Engine 15 became the department’s first hazmat company and responded as a two-piece specialty company until 1992. Today, Engine 15 responds as a single company.
