Engine Co. 10
Engine 10 was organized in 1874 at 1419 East Washington Street in a beautiful building that has preserved to this day. It is one of several Louisville fire companies that have been relocated, disbanded, and reactivated multiple times. Engine 10 was activated permanently at 501 Ashland Avenue in 1972, which was originally built in 1924. In 2011, Engine 10, Truck 8, and Battalion 3 continued operations in a brand new facility that adjoins the original building, which has been renovated and now houses the department’s Arson Squad.
