Engine Co. 6
Engine Company 6 was organized in 1916 at their current location at South Limestone and Scott Street in the center of the University of Kentucky campus. Engine 6 is a Hazmat Special Operations company and is one of Lexington’s foam engines. It was also historically a two-piece engine company consisting of the engine and either a hose wagon or Squrt. It was the last two-piece company when the Squrt was removed from service in 1999. Fire Station 6 was completely remodeled in the late 1980’s and also houses an ALS ambulance (EC7).
