Engine Co. 17
Engine Company 17 was first organized in 1973 after the Lexington FD and Fayette County FD merger, as second engine companies with larger water tanks were added to several stations for rural response. Engine 17 ran from Station 9 and later Station 7. During 1985, in order to provide better fire protection to the rural area of eastern Lexington, a home was purchased at 4113 Winchester Road and converted into a fire station with the addition of a large bay where the garage had been. Today, Engine 17 is a Paramedic Engine Company.
