District 2
Lexington first implemented the District "Chief" Officer assignment after the consolidation of the city and county fire departments under the Lexington Fire Department in 1973. The requirements provided for command and supervisory coverage to the expanded city and saw the creation of four new "Districts". Today Lexington operates five District Officer Units for all fire, rescue and EMS coverage.
District 2 covers the southeast portion of Lexington and is assigned to Fire Station 16.
