Pleasure Ridge Park Station 3
The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District was established in 1950. It has grown to become one of the largest and busiest fire departments in Kentucky.
In 2003, Pleasure Ridge Park absorbed the former South Dixie fire district. In 2017, fire-based EMS was established. And in 2020, Pleasure Ridge Park absorbed the former Lake Dreamland fire district.
Today, Pleasure Ridge Park has over 100 career and part-time personnel who currently staff 6 active stations and a training center.
"PRP" has operated a large number of apparatus since its inception. Its fleet has consistently been fluid with multiple new purchases and regular reassignments under several numbering configurations, as well as graphics schemes.
In early 2023, Louisville Metro/Jefferson County suburban units will transition to a new two and three digit numbering system, following Louisville and Shively, sequentially. Photos will be updated as units are physically renumbered. PRP units will be renumbered 86-93.
