Established in 1866, Owensboro is a career fire department operating from 5 stations, protecting the 4th largest city in Kentucky.
Owensboro Fire Station No. 4 opened in 1973 to replace an older station as part of a total redistricting of the City of Owensboro that also saw the opening of a new multi-company Headquarters and closure of Station 2. Station No. 4 is located at 25th and Breckenridge Streets. Previously, it also housed a ladder company.
Today, Station No. 4 is home to Engine Co. 4 and also houses a reserve engine.
